There are a number of motorcycle enthusiasts that will not stop until they perfected and are satisfied with the performance and appearance of their motorcycle. Adding features increases the worth of the motorcycle and increases the urge of the owner to upgrade it further. Modifying the appearance and improving performance of the motorcycle brings happiness and satisfaction to the owner. 600rr 520 conversion is a great one too.

Accessories are added to enhance the appearance, function, performance, comfort and safety. These accessories are readily available in the motorcycle shops.

The following are the possible enhancements one can do for his motorcycle:

AESTHETIC\ OR VISUAL UPGRADE ( changing handle bars, grips, levers, suspension, exhaust, lights, etc., can change the appearance of the motorcycle. Repainting it gives a new and fresher look. Adding arts on the chassis, like tattoos, graffiti, letterings, etc., adds on the creative look of the motorcycle.
ADDING ON SOUND SYSTEM ( some enthusiasts are also fond of listening to music. They integrate sound systems. They put on specialized compartment for the CD player and speakers. With the popularity of handheld music players such as IPODs, MP3 players, etc and small but powerful speaker, it is easier to integrate the sound system to the motorcycle. Specialized control system for volume and track changer can be placed on the handlebars for easy access.
COMFORT UPGRADES ( for upgrading comfort, most likely they add the cushioning of the seats, changes the seat cover, adds cushion to the grips etc.
SAFETY AND TOURING ADD-ONS ( signal lights and fog lights enhancement also enhances safety during the night. For touring add-ons, an option of putting saddlebags as carriage is a good one.
PERFORMANCE UPGRADE ( enhancing the performance is the most sought after upgrade on the motorcycle. Changing the air filter is one of the first and easiest things to do. Upgrading the engine can add power to the performance and running behavior of the motorcycle. It is also another option to upgrade the exhaust.

Customizing may cost you time, effort and money in doing so, but satisfaction is guaranteed.

Since we all know how influential and powerful the FIM is in the world of motorcycle racing, let’s check out some of associations that are affiliated with it.

The first one on our list is the Union Europeenne de Motocyclisme (UEM). This group is the one responsible for races in Europe. This group started only in 1995 and now controls 21 national federations.

The next one is the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU), which is the governing body of motorcycle racing in Britain. This group is one of the founding members of the FIM. The ACU was founded as early as 1903. It aims to develop motorcycle sport through clubs or organization and arrange touring facilities for the club members.

We also have the Canadian Motorcycle Association. This group was founded in 1946. It became affiliated with the FIM in 1950. Now, it serves as a representative of all Canadian riders and enthusiasts. In the Unite3d States, we have the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA).It is a non-profit organization with over 300,000 members. The AMA was founded in 1924, and it is now the largest motorsports organization in the world. It governs all motorcycle organizations in the US. The group even has their own magazine called the American Motorcyclist.

All prestigious motorcycle races are always governed or administered by the FIM. Formally known as Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme, this body is the authority in motorcycle racing. They represent around 98 national motorcycle federations, and these are divided into continental unions.

This governing body in motorcycle racing was founded in Paris on December 21, 1904. It used to be called Federation Internationale des Clubs Motocyclistes or FICM. One of the founding members was the British Auto-Cycle Union (ACU). FICM was dissolved two years after, but like any strong federation, it was reborn in 1912, eight years after it was dissolved. It was also during that year when they relocated their headquarters to England.

The name FIM was born in 1949. After ten years, they transferred the HQ again, this time, to Geneva, Switzerland. Apparently, that was not the last time they transferred because in 1994, the headquarters relocated again to Mies, Switzerland. This is, they now had their own building. It was also the start of a progressive governing body in motorcycle racing. The FIM celebrated their centennial celebration last 2004. The celebration was held in Paris in October of that year.

There’s one motorcycle racing event that is very popular among the motorcycling community. It’s called the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race. It is more popular as the Isle of Man TT. This event is held on the Isle of Man. For many years, this was the most prestigious motorcycle racing even in the whole world.

The first Isle of Man race was called the International Auto-Cycle Tourist Trophy. That race was held on May 28, 1907. The winner of the single-cylinder class that year was Charlie Collier. He was a British motorcycle racer. He won the Isle of Man TT two times in his career. For the twin cylinder class, the winner was Rem Fowler. Rem, also a British motorcycle racer, was driving a Peugeot that year when he won the race.
Today, the people who are in the hall of fame for the Isle of Man TT are the ones who have won the most number of races for the event. Topping the list is Joey Dunlop, a racer from Northern Ireland, with 26 wins for the Isle of Man TT.
